Prof. Edmond Jonckheere

Edmond Jonckheere received multi-national education from Belgium (M.S., Electrical Engineering, 1973), France (Dr. Eng., Aerospace Engineering, 1975) and the USA (Ph.D., Electrical Engineering, 1978). He held several positions (European Space Agency, Philips Research Laboratory, Max Planck Institute) before his permanent position at the University of Southern California, where he is currently a (full) professor of Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, a member of the Center for Applied Mathematical Sciences (CAMS), the Center for Quantum Information Science and Technology (QUIST), and the Lockheed-USC Center for Quantum Adiabatic Computations. He has had numerous visiting positons at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia, the University of Namur, Belgium, Swansea University (United Kingdom), and Cardiff University (United Kingdom), where he is currently holding a Honorary Senior Research Fellow position. After spending the first half of his career in control, he moved to communication networks (network topology, wireless protocols) and more recently to quantum information technology. He is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
