In the lecture, we introduce the Apache Hadoop system as a basis for distributed computing. Hive, a SQL-like language for processing big data, will be described. We will also explain what's behind terms like collection, preprocessing, and postprocessing of big data. We will show how to structure reports, work with dimensions and metrics, and solve the aggregation and combination of data for fast visualization in graphs.

Short CV:

L. Antalov holds a Master's degree from Masaryk University Brno, Faculty of Informatics. He  has been with since 2008 and currently holds the position of a Development Team Leader. He is responsible for the development of statistical and analytical tools for the Sklik PPC system and for the internal web traffic measurement.
