Dominik Pastorek was recognized for his long-term work as a student ambassador, particularly for his support of international student recruitment, representation of CTU within the Study in Prague initiative, and promotion of study opportunities at FIT CTU. In addition, he is actively involved in his own technical project, Engineering Passion, within which he designs and builds a fully 3D-printed tracked vehicle capable of transporting a person. Every year, he also guides students from his former secondary school around the faculty to show them that FIT CTU is not just about programming.
“For me, this is proof that my work and projects have a positive impact. At the same time, it shows that even things that start as a small seed can grow into larger projects—Study in Prague is a good example of that,” says Dominik Pastorek.
The scholarship was awarded to a total of six students from public universities in Prague. The keynote speaker of the ceremonial evening was Dr. Tomáš Sedláček, a Czech economist, philosopher, university lecturer, and director of the Václav Havel Library Foundation.
The scholarship commemorates the legacy of Prof. Miroslav Vlček, former Vice-Rector of CTU for International Relations and founder of the Study in Prague consortium, which is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its establishment this year. Its aim is to support cooperation among Prague universities and to foster the development of an international student community.
