On Friday, May 22, 2026, the Faculty of Information Technology at the Czech Technical University in Prague (FIT CTU) welcomed a delegation from five South Korean universities. The visit was attended by approximately 12 professors and 40 students who, as part of their academic and presentation tour of European universities, also visited Prague and FIT CTU.
The delegation represented Sun Moon University, Kookmin University, Keimyung University, Ajou University, and Daelim University. The primary purpose of their European tour was to participate in a professional academic meeting in Poland. Along the way, they are visiting selected universities to learn about their educational programs, research activities, and opportunities for future collaboration. The program is supported by a grant from the South Korean government aimed at promoting international academic cooperation and student exchanges.
The visit at FIT CTU began with a welcome gathering in front of the faculty building, followed by presentations from both the South Korean universities and FIT CTU. Representatives of individual departments also took part in the program, introducing their research activities, study programs, and current projects.
"We greatly appreciate the opportunity to welcome representatives of leading South Korean universities to FIT CTU. Meetings of this kind are important not only for sharing experience in research and education, but also for building long-term international partnerships and creating new opportunities for our students and academics," said Assoc. Prof. Jan Janoušek, Dean of FIT CTU.
A significant part of the program consisted of presentations by selected research groups from the faculty. The guests visited the Robotic Agents Laboratory led by Prof. Pavel Surynek, where they learned about activities focused on robotics, autonomous systems, and motion planning. Another presentation was given by Assoc. Prof. Robert Pergl and his research group, the Center for Conceptual Modeling and Implementation, which introduced selected topics in software engineering and systems modeling.
