The Faculty of Information Technology at the Czech Technical University in Prague (FIT CTU) has joined the international InnoBridgE project, which aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Czech-Saxon border region in the areas of digitalization, innovation, and the development of so-called future skills—the competencies required to succeed in a rapidly changing labour market. The project entered its implementation phase in 2026 and is funded through the Interreg Czechia–Saxony programme.
InnoBridgE connects academia with businesses on both sides of the border, with a primary focus on supporting SMEs in Saxony and the Ústí nad Labem Region. Throughout the project, partners will organize networking and foresight activities, company visits, case studies, and the development of practice-oriented micro-credentials that respond to the current needs of the labour market. The project also includes the creation of the bilingual digital platform InnoBridgE Future Skills Hub, which will facilitate knowledge sharing, education, and cross-border collaboration.
FIT CTU contributes its expertise in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, data analytics, and modern educational approaches.
“At FIT CTU, our main focus within the project is identifying the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, developing future skills, and creating practice-oriented micro-credentials. Our goal is to prepare educational content that reflects the current needs of companies and helps them respond to rapid technological advances and changes in the labour market,” says Mgr. Martin Guba, who represents FIT CTU in the project.
The project is carried out in collaboration with TU Dresden, FIT CTU, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, and IU Internationale Hochschule Dresden.
