Open Day on Jan. 29, 2020

Come to find out why to study informatics at our faculty on the Open Day on Wednesday, January 29 from 9:00 to 16:00. You will have the opportunity to meet both teachers and students and find out what the study at our faculty really is. The presentations about the bachelor, master, and doctoral study programme are waiting for you. You can also visit the presentation stands of branches and student clubs. There are also prepared tours of the faculty premises including laboratories and the National Library of Technology.


The event is held from 9:00 to 16:00. You will learn all the details of the program at our information stand at the entrance to the building, where students will answer your questions and advise you where to go. Here you can also pick up the printed program of the event and other materials.

During the lectures, you will get valuable information about the organisation of classes, admission procedure, and study branches. We also show you that studying at our faculty is not only about the study itself but also about a lot of exciting activities. The lectures are held in Czech.

If you want to learn more about bachelor and master branches offered by the faculty, visit their stands in the atrium of the New Building CTU. Here teachers and students introduce you to the programme and answer all of your questions. There is also going to be a stand with information about the doctoral programme.

The faculty also opens the doors to its research laboratories. You can visit them by yourself in the adjacent Building A. For example, you can look forward to workshops or teasers of students’ work and theses.

Guided Tours

FIT students take you to the faculty premises of the New Building CTU and the National Library of Technology. During the tours, you can see how auditoriums or classrooms look like. You can also visit, alone or with accompaniment, the laboratories in the Building A. The tours are held in Czech.

Accompanying Program

We have also set up another accompanying program for you. At info stands, you learn how to get to the FIT without an entrance exam. You get acquainted with a wide range of school and out-of-school projects and learn about student life not only on the dormitories.

You fit in! Play Tetris and other old game classics in RetroHerna.
Virtual reality
Try virtual reality headset and move into the worlds that students of the Computer Graphics specialisation bring to life.
Faculty Informatics Correspondence Seminar (FIKS)
At the FIKS stand, you will learn how to participate in the FIT Informatics Correspondence Seminar. You can gain programming knowledge and get admission without the entrance exam.
CTU Student Union
At the CTU Student Union stand, you will discover what student life is like not only at the dormitories. You will also be introduced to the FIT++ faculty club, the Silicon Hill and Sincoolka dormitory clubs and the Audiovisual Centre of CTU students.
Cooperation with industry
At the Cooperation with Industry stand, you will find out how to gain experience in interesting companies while studying.
3D printing
The 3D Printing Lab stand will show you what kind of printer you can make at home or as part of our 3D Printing (BI-3DT.1) course and what you can print on it.
At the SCIO stand, you will learn how to apply and succeed in the National Comparative Exams (NSZ) in mathematics or general academic prerequisites for admission to FIT Czech programme.

The event is primarily intended for those interested in studying in the Czech bachelor, master, or doctoral degree study programme. Entry is free of charge, and registration is not required.
