Successful Double Degree Graduate Advised FIT CTU Students

On Friday, November 14, Ing. Wanaka Mannaert, MSc., a successful graduate of the Double Degree program run in cooperation between FIT CTU and the University of Antwerp (UAntwerp), visited the Faculty of Information Technology at CTU in Prague (FIT CTU).

The meeting took place in an informal atmosphere and was attended by three FIT CTU students who are first-year students of the Double Degree program within the Digital Business Engineering study program. Wanaka Mannaert briefly shared her study experiences and answered all questions regarding the structure and benefits of the program.

“I love coming back to FIT CTU, it always makes me feel at home, and I enjoy contributing to the partnership between the two universities. The meeting was a nice way to transfer my experiences to the next generation of double-degree students. I hope it helps them feel prepared and confident for the road ahead,” Wanaka says.

The meeting was also attended by Michal Valenta, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Software Engineering and program guarantor, and Daniela Illnerová, Vice-Dean for External Relations.

“To students interested in the double degree, I would say that the program not only gives you the chance to specialize in multiple subject areas, but also the opportunity to feel at home in two countries. The two cultures differ in their understanding of hard work and success, and it is incredibly valuable to learn both perspectives and graduate as a more well-rounded being,” Wanaka adds.

The Double Degree program offers students a unique opportunity to combine knowledge in economics and information technology while earning two diplomas. Wanaka Mannaert is the first graduate of this program at FIT ČVUT and, through her experiences, inspires other students to take advantage of this opportunity.
