Accessibility Statement

Mandatory content requirements

The website of the Czech Technical University in Prague (hereinafter referred to as the website) is designed with a maximum commitment to clarity, usability and accessibility of its functionality and textual content.

The website makes maximum effort to be accessible to users with disabilities and is fully compliant with the principles of accessibility in accordance with Sections 4 and 5 of Act No. 99/2019 Coll., on Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications, and on Amendment to Act No. 365/2000 Coll., on Public Administration Information Systems and on Amendments to Some Other Acts , as amended, implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

This accessibility statement applies to the following website:

  • fit.cvut.cz

Structure of information

The website is created in accordance with the HTML5 specification and is syntactically and semantically correct. The content and form are separated using CSS. The website will remain accessible also after the JavaScript functions are switched off with no loss of content and navigation information. The website can therefore be used on different end devices.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with EN 301 549 V2 1.2 and standard WCAG 2.1 due to inadequately accessible content or the exemptions listed below.

Content accessibility

Some documents for publication are received in a form that is inaccessible (from other institutions, generated from the accounting system, etc.). However, the website operator is obliged to publish them, which it does. Similarly, some older photos or photo albums in photo banks do not have an alternative text description. Some videos uploaded directly onto the website may not have subtitles available. Eliminating such deficiencies to ensure compliance with law and accessibility requirements would be very expensive for the operator, so under Section 7 of Act No. 356/2000 Coll., as amended, no changes are made to such materials.

Some information on this website is provided in the form of PDF documents. In order to view these documents, users need to have Adobe Reader installed. It can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website. There are also alternative readers available (Foxit Reader, PDF-XChange Viewer and many more). Most PDF documents can be viewed directly in common browsers.

Other documents on the website are in MS Office formats, or alternative office applications formats (such as .doc, .docx, .odt, .xls, .xlsx, .ods and other similar formats). Such files can be viewed and edited in most commonly used text editors (MS Office, Libre Office, Open Office). In some cases, they can be displayed directly in the browser in an accessible form.
