Preparation for the Informatics test
Do not let the entrance exam take you by surprise – become a computer science whiz. Our online preparatory informatics course and our set of sample tests from previous years will help you get fully prepared.
Would you like to pursue a professional career or a career in research in the rapidly evolving world of IT? All you need to do is submit an application for the Master’s Degree Programme in Applied Informatics.
The official, legally binding source for the entire admission procedure is the Conditions for Admission. The step-by-step guide on this page serves as a quick and clear overview – the complete, precise terms, dates, and legal details can be found directly in this approved document. In this section, you will also find the required study contract and links to detailed study information.
We will guide you through the entire admission procedure step by step. From submitting your application to your final registration into the study, most steps can be completed easily online. Check out what awaits you and which important dates to keep in mind!
You enter the admission procedure with a complete and paid application form. You can fill it out online from 1 January to 31 March 2027. We have only one round of the admission procedure.
The fee for the admission procedure is CZK 1,050 (approx. EUR 42 / USD 45). We recommend paying it online as soon as you fill out the application, but you can also pay with a wire transfer if necessary.
Remember to upload all required documents through the application. It can be done even after the deadline, but you must upload a scan of your passport by 31 March 2027. You can find details in the article “Admission to study“ of the Conditions for Admission.
Even though the deadline for completing these steps is 31 March 2027, we strongly encourage you to perform these steps as soon as possible to allow us to process the applications on an ongoing basis.
The next step is uploading your structured CV (focusing on your IT skills and experience) by 7 April 2027. If English is not your native language, you must also prove your proficiency at level B2 or higher according to the CEFR as soon as possible to schedule your entrance exam. Upload both documents to your application.
Accepted documents for English proficiency include, but are not limited to:
Once you submit your CV and proof of English proficiency, you are eligible to take the admission test and interview. The exact date and time will be agreed upon via email between you and the Admissions Committee.
The Admission Test takes 90 minutes and consists of a set of multiple-choice questions in the Moodle tool. It is a closed-book exam, no electronic communication tools are allowed, and no calculators are permitted.
The Informatics Test will cover the following topics:
You must upload through the application or deliver to the Office of Study Affairs the following documents:
Documents associated with your previous foreign education must be officially recognized by the Czech Republic (nostrification) or verified through the CTU.
Once you upload all required documents, you shall receive (by mail) an official letter of admission, further information about your studies and an admission confirmation for the Czech Embassy in your country.
After being accepted for studies in the Czech Republic, you must apply to the Czech Embassy in your country for a visa if needed. Students arriving for a period longer than 90 days apply for a long-term residence permit for study purposes. The whole procedure for obtaining a visa for study purposes can take 60–90 days, so we recommend applying for the visa well in advance. For further information, please get in touch with the Czech Embassy.

You can book accommodation at the CTU dormitory online and get a contract confirming guaranteed accommodation. If you need help with your registration, you can contact the Accommodation Department at ubytovani@suz.cvut.cz.
To complete your registration into the study, you must pay the tuition fee* of CZK 64,000 (approx. EUR 2,600 / USD 3,000) for the first semester of your studies. You can pay it either by card (recommended) or bank transfer. The payment deadline is the day of registration into the study, but no later than 15 September 2027.
* The tuition fee does not cover accommodation, food, transportation, books, health insurance, or other personal expenses.
Once the tuition fee payment for the first semester is executed to the FIT bank account, you can register into the study. The registration can be done online from 30 June to 15 September 2027. The exact details are specified in your admission letter.
The classes start on 20 September 2027.
