Optical Communications Laboratory (OptiLab)

In the laboratory, we are engaged in research and development of modern optical networks, especially in the field of alternative use of data fiber networks. We focus on the areas of special long-distance very precise time and/or optical frequency transmissions, the use of optical fibers for sensing and for quantum communication, and their combinations.

Equipment

The laboratory is equipped with instruments for performing measurements and experiments in the field of fibre optics. Specifically, these include optical tables, laser optical signal sources, optical amplifiers and optical signal meters, all-optical switches, and fiber optic fault location detection instruments.
