Department of Digital Design Hosted a Student Scientific Conference

From April 25 to 27, 2025, a student scientific conference titled Cumulative Departmental Seminar (KUKAS) took place in South Bohemia, organized by the Department of Digital Design at the Faculty of Information Technology of the Czech Technical University in Prague (FIT CTU).

The seminar featured 19 presentations covering topics such as Embedded Security, Neural Networks, Artificial Intelligence, and more. The talks were delivered by PhD students from FIT CTU, who had the opportunity to present the results of their research.

The seminar was also attended by experts in the fields of hardware, embedded systems, and security. Notable guests included Ing. Petr Socha, Ph.D., who presented current approaches to teaching information technologies at elementary and secondary schools — specifically showcasing the educational concept implemented at ZŠ Broumovská and the Secondary Technical and Vocational School in Liberec. Ing. Stanislav Jeřábek, Ph.D., from the company TropicSquare, gave insight into the design of a real cryptographic chip and demonstrated how the design and production process works in practice.

“I evaluate the event very positively and am truly glad it took place. Not only because it provides a platform where people can share their research and give others insight into their work, but also because it involves both teaching assistants and students specializing in computer engineering. I appreciate the department's initiative to support its students and other enthusiasts in the field of hardware, and to create a more welcoming and dynamic environment — one that can shape the country’s top hardware engineers,” says Jan Kirchner, a student at FIT CTU.
