We are supporting Ukraine’s recovery with a smart app connecting supply and demand

Representatives of the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of CTU, FIT CTU and CzechTrade signed a memorandum of cooperation in the “Poptávky a nabídky Ukrajina 2022” (Supply and Demand Ukraine 2022) project. The joint project will use the unique know-how of the partners to effectively, economically and digitally support the renewal of the Ukrainian business environment. The project is also supported by the “Business klub Ukrajina” (Business Club Ukraine), led by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. The project will also involve CTU students.

The use of artificial intelligence algorithms, including machine translation for fast communication and finding a suitable supplier based on the parameters entered in the application: this is how the new application developed by the partners of the memorandum will work. The primary intention is to use this fully digital and user-friendly application built on the existing CzechTrade IT environment in the challenging process of rebuilding Ukraine, especially its business infrastructure. First and foremost, the most basic needs of the population: reconstruction of housing, water supply, heating, etc. The application will help to use readily available resources at minimal cost, and at the same time, it is a good export opportunity for Czech entrepreneurs.

Students will also be involved in the project and the app’s development, for example, in hackathons or developing specific parts of the project. The future success of the app, which will connect supply and demand, is also supported by the fact that the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic has been informed about the project from the very beginning and is actively cooperating with it. The project is also supported by the Business Club Ukraine – a powerful and inclusive tool of the government for communication with the Czech business environment.
