Registration of courses

During the period of regular registrations, students choose the final composition of courses for the following semester and create their schedule. It is possible to view, enrol or cancel courses in the KOS system. In addition, students can create a schedule in this system by enrolling in individual course parallels and enrolling in the next semester.

Regular registration of courses takes place (as well as preliminary registration) in the KOS study information system. Their beginning and end is determined by the schedule of the academic year, it is always the period before the beginning of the semester, and adjustments to the composition of courses can be made until the end of the second week of the semester.

Registration for the winter semester takes place during the summer holidays and registration for the summer semester takes place during the winter examination period (the start date is indicated in the timetable). It is possible to register for courses until the close of registration in the KOS system or the start of the semester.

Registration Control and Registration for the Next Semester

In the side menu Courses » Registered Courses « here you can check the registered courses, check the entry into the schedule and close the registration of courses for the next semester.

Schedule Entry Check

The schedule entry control shows whether a student can create his/her own schedule. The check is automatic until the admission and can be started manually with the button with the arrow symbol going into the circle. If the student has met the conditions for continuing his/her studies and the minimum threshold of weighted credits earned, a button will be displayed at this point to show the creation of the schedule.

Check of Registration

This shows whether the student meets all the conditions for continuing their studies and therefore closing their enrolment.

The time of the last enrolment check is displayed at the bottom left, which is done automatically after some actions in KOS, or can be triggered using the button with the arrow symbol going into the circle.

Close of Registration

In the "Registration Check" section, there is a button to close the registration, which will enroll the student in the semester. After closing the registration, it is still possible to change the parallels in the timetable, but it is not possible to remove a course or register a new one in the KOS system. However, a student may contact the Office of Academic Affairs up to two times after the close of registration to request a change in course mix.

Registration must be completed by the 10th day after the beginning of the schedule creation; if the student fails to do so, the schedule will be deleted. In this case, the student must recreate the schedule.

It is also necessary to close registration no later than the beginning of the semester. If the student fails to do so, he/she will not be allowed to enroll for the semester.

Registration course

At the start of regular registrations, the student has enrolled in all courses from the pre-registration, except those that have been withdrawn due to insufficient capacity. The student is notified by e-mail of the course cancellation at least one week before regular registration, based on the decision of the relevant department.

Additional courses may be enrolled according to offer and available capacity. Some courses can only be registered for if certain conditions are met, e.g. completion of the course to which this course is related or requires knowledge of this course. Such courses are marked with a "!RESTRICTIONS" sign which, when clicked, displays the course syllabus where the requirements are listed.

To enroll in PE, follow the instructions provided by Institut of Physical Education and Sport, CTU.

Registration based on the study plan

In the side menu Courses » Study plan « you can view the courses of the current study plan, you can switch to another study plan by clicking the button on the top left. Then you can expand the individual categories of compulsory subjects and information about the individual subjects. For both categories and individual courses, information on completion or whether the course is currently registered is displayed. In this menu, you can register for these courses if they are in the current registration offer and the requirements for their registration are met.

Courses on the current curriculum can also be viewed at:

BACHELOR'S COURSES Master's courses

Registration by offer/code/faculty/department

The requirement to successfully complete a course listed in the curriculum can sometimes be fulfilled in lieu of another course. Either an explicit relationship of unidirectional substitution is established between the two courses, or both are members of the same group of equivalent courses.

Courses can be sorted by column and filtered using the controls at the top of the page - by alphabet, semester, faculty and department. Also, courses can be searched by name or code using the field with the magnifying glass icon. Courses already taken are hidden in the default view and can be shown or hidden using the checkbox at the top right.

Cancellation of a registered subject

A student may cancel registration of any registered course during the course registration period (regular and provisional). In the side menu Courses » Registered Courses «, then it is necessary to click on the course and using the button "Remove" will be asked to confirm that he wants to actually remove this course.

Create schedule

A student can create his/her timetable in the KOS system as soon as he/she meets the requirements for entering the timetable. In the side menu Schedules » Create Schedule «, the current timetable will be displayed and in it a menu of parallels that you have not yet added to the timetable.

Some parallels cannot be written down because:

  • their capacity has been exhausted
  • the registration has not been enabled yet
  • they will be registered automatically with the registration of another parallel (e.g. for some courses the lecture parallel is linked to the practice parallel).

Parallels in conflict can be written in the schedule. These will be highlighted in red and a warning will be displayed. However, such a schedule is valid and the student is responsible for completing it.
