Five students of the Faculty of Information Technology CTU in Prague (FIT CTU) have received a prestigious certificate of successful graduation from the unique inter-university educational program Minor in the field of artificial intelligence, offered by the initiative in cooperation with CTU in Prague and Charles University. The ceremony of awarding certificates to young talents in the field of AI took place at the Prague Mayor's Residence on October 5, 2023 in the presence of Prague city leaders and representatives of all participating faculties.

Among this year's 18 graduates of the Minor program, there were also five representatives from FIT CTU: Ing. Erik Hulmák, Ing. Ján Chudý, Ing. Juraj Kmec, Ing. Adriána Majtánová and Ing. Matej Šutý. Over the entire time of the program, a total of 47 students have already successfully graduated, of which 11 are graduates from FIT CTU. Another 108 students are currently registered in the program. Minor is an important initiative that helps, in cooperation with the participating universities and the Prague City, to educate a new generation of AI experts, both from a technical and ethical point of view. Networking events and professional meetings with leading business representatives are an integral part of this educational program.

"Joining the Minor program was, without exaggeration, one of my best study decisions, says Ing. Erik Hulmák, this year's graduate from FIT CTU and adds: "It allowed me to study the most interesting and advanced courses at other faculties, such as Autonomous Robotics, Reinforcement Learning, but also ethics regarding AI. I was also able to attend workshops and excursions that gave me the opportunity to see the internal operations of both startups and companies and to talk to other students and business people openly."

"I evaluate the program very positively.  I think that everyone finds something for themselves. For me personally, the main benefit was the expansion of my knowledge in the fields of Machine Learning, AI, and Data Science. The program offers a unique opportunity to enroll in courses that we don't have at our faculty, or to learn something extra. Even though I have already completed the program, I can still attend program events in the future," mentions Ing. Ján Chudý, this year's graduate from FIT CTU.

The Minor program is open to all students of the participating universities – especially, but not exclusively from FIT CTU, FEL CTU, FSV UK and MFF UK. The program accepts new students each year. The application process takes place each spring on the website.
