Student at FIT Martin Kučera and FIT graduate Vojtěch Paukner started the project Milý Ježíšku (Dear Baby Jesus) 7 years ago and have since then fulfilled nearly 7000 Christmas wishes of children in children’s homes and from disadvantaged families. Thanks to this charitable idea and the project’s success they were selected for the Forbes Czech Republic 30under30 list.
For 6 years now, Forbes annually issues a list of 30 young Czechs who are changing the world. To make it to the 30 under 30 list is a dream of every endeavouring Czech under the age of 30. Already when he was a high school student, Martin Kučera programmed a web page with a wish list, which won him a prize in a programming competition. He could have used it commercially, but instead, he decided, together with a friend, Vojtěch Paukner, to use the platform to help kids in children’s homes. In 2014, the two friends received the Via Bona Award for Young Philanthropists. They continue to work on the project in their free time.
