Enrolment in Elective Courses offered outside FIT

For FIT students - Enrolment in courses of other faculties/departments of CTU

If a faculty/other part of CTU offers a course in the KOS system for a student's degree programme, then:

  • the student, according to his/her interest, finds a course in KOS at the faculty that provides it,
  • enter it in the KOS. For faculties or units of CTU that have preliminary enrolments, they enrol the course during this period and then confirm their enrolment in the regular enrolment

If a faculty/other part of CTU does not offer a course in KOS for students in the student's program of study, then:

  • the student finds a subject of his/her interest in the CTU White Book at the faculty providing it.
  • contact the department of the relevant faculty teaching the course with a request to register the course.
  • if the student has not yet completed the registration for the semester, the registration of the course in the KOS can be done by the study officer of the relevant department of the faculty.
  • if the student has already completed the semester's enrollment, he/she submits a request approved by the sponsoring department to his/her home STO to enroll in the course.

Enrolment in courses outside CTU

When enrolling in courses outside the CTU, including their possible charging, students are governed by the regulations of the faculty/institute/college providing the course and the rules according to any bilateral agreements between FIT/CCU and the relevant faculty/institute/college.

Enrolment in FIT courses for candidates not studying at the CTU

If a student is studying at another CTU faculty in an accredited study programme and the FIT department offers the selected FIT course to his/her study programme, the following applies:

  • FEL students enroll in the course during the preliminary enrollment using KOS. Unless the sponsoring FIT department cancels the course due to limited capacity, the student will remain enrolled in the course.
  • Students from other faculties, where there is no pre-enrolment, enroll in courses during the regular enrolment in KOS if there is free capacity within the course.

If a student is studying at another CTU faculty in an accredited study programme and the selected FIT course is not offered by the FIT department to his/her study programme, the following applies:

  • During regular enrollment, the department of FIT will request that the course be registered.
  • If the department agrees to the enrollment and the student has not closed enrollment for the semester, the department will enroll the student in the course.
  • If the department agrees to enrollment and the student has already completed enrollment for the semester, the department will enroll the student in the course or the department will confirm the student's consent to enrollment at the student's request, which the student will then forward to the student's home department, which will enroll the student in the course.

The applicant does not study at CTU, but at another university

When enrolling in courses at FIT, including any fees, applicants are governed by the regulations of FIT and the rules according to any bilateral agreements between FIT and the university where the applicant is enrolled.
