The COFIT jobs fair will present over 60 IT companies

20. 3. 2023

On Thursday, 30 March 2023, the faculty will host the COFIT jobs fair, offering students the best work placement opportunities while studying. Students can find a topic for their final thesis or term paper, a part-time job or an internship. Students can choose cooperation opportunities directly at the presentation kiosk of IT companies, which will be almost 60 this year. At the fair, visitors will have the chance to meet company experts, see current projects of selected faculty laboratories, take advantage of advice from the CTU Career Centre or consult their startup ideas with experienced mentors.

The faculty has been organizing COFIT regularly every semester since the 2014/2015 academic year. This year, visitors will get to know over 60 IT companies and find out what cooperation opportunities they offer during their studies. Faculty experts will advise on how to search for offers on the faculty website, where students can choose from projects, internships, topics for final thesis and term papers, and work placements. For those interested in doctoral studies, the faculty will introduce the Industrial PhD programme realized in cooperation with a company that supports the PhD student with a scholarship and know-how.

Participants will learn about current research projects at the kiosk of selected faculty laboratories (OpenDataLab, RoboAgeLab, DataLab, …). A new addition will be a demonstration of a robotic arm from the Robotic Agents Laboratory (RoboAgeLab).

Visitors can take advantage of startup advice from experienced mentors from the world of technology startups who will share their valuable experiences. To promote entrepreneurship, the faculty is offering several free kiosks for its students’ and graduates’ startups for the first time this year. The condition is to present a startup younger than 3 years old, where FIT students or graduates have a share of at least 10 %.

There will also be professional guidance from the CTU Career Centre, where visitors can try a stress-free job interview, improve their CV and LinkedIn and get an idea of their strengths and weaknesses needed for their dream profession. Attractive kiosks also await visitors in the outdoor areas in front of the faculty.
